Imprint is an honest and introspective exploration of humanity, using poetry and theatre. Shaped around the experiences that have brought us to this place, the poets of Young Identity rhapsodise about parents, absence and mental health, as they do their very best to shed snakeskin and grow past their trauma. Young Identity returns following their sell-out show Hatch Home at Push Festival 2018.
Encapsulating the spirit and essence of Manchester, with metaphor and rhythmic performance, Imprint brings the city’s finest and most fierce poets to centre stage.
Directed by Courtney ‘CourtsWrites’ Hayles, and Dramaturged by Shirley May, IMPRINT is a new piece produced under Young Identity’s Hatch programme, which develops young aspiring spoken word artists and Theatre-makers. IMPRINT features 8 young poets and follows on from the eponymous Hatch production, which was performed at Contact in Autumn 2017.
